Applesauce

When ever we get an abundance of produce, it seems like a lot of it goes to waste.  Once those apples have turned or are bruised, they are pushed off into the corner and destined to wait out their life until they have become so old that we can justify throwing them away.

It seems like there's something you could do with old fruit and vegetables...

I didn't want anything sweet, so I couldn't make apple pie, and I wanted something that could be put away and genuinely enjoyed later.  Then I remembered:  applesauce!

Making applesauce is so easy!

1) Cut and peal apples
     -remove any scary bruises
2) Put in a pot with 1/2" to 1" of water
3) Add cinnamon
4) Boil, and turn down to a simmer with lid on, stirring occasionally (About 20 minutes or until soft)
5) Mash :)
